HL were appointed as the civil and structural engineers to remodel this existing laboratory building to provide a state of the art clinical trials and research laboratory for a leading virology pharmaceuticals company.

 

The existing building is situated within a science park on the outskirts of Cambridge and had previously been constructed up to a ‘shell and core’ level.

 

HL engineers have designed the structural and drainage modifications to the building required to provide forty clinical standard bedrooms at first floor level and a research laboratory at ground floor level. Advanced footfall vibration analysis of the structure has been completed to facilitate the installation of vibration sensitive mass spectrometry equipment.
