Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy, Runcorn

HL were appointed as the Structural Engineers for this project at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy in Murdishaw, Runcorn, which involved a redesign of the visitor entrance to the academy.  The new entrance needed to create a secure sign-in area for visitors and reception area and improve on the old, cramped entrance way.

 

Construction works took place whilst the school was in operation and this required HL to work closely with the architect, Damien Field Architects to minimize disruption to the school.  HL therefore proposed a steel frame structure to reduce the impact on school operations.  The design was completed in a very tight time frame to enable the new entrance to be completed in preparation  of a new academic year.
