Former West Norward Fire Station, Lambeth

HL are the appointed civil and structural engineer for this new-build residential project as part of the wider re-development of the former West Norwood Fire Station.

 

This new four storey concrete frame will provide ten 3-bed flats. The building was drawn using Autodesk Revit, which allowed us to quickly resolve co-ordination issues with the project architect, such as the complex structural & finishes interfaces at the balconies.

 

A concrete frame was chosen as the most cost effective method of construction for the confined site, and most compatible with the intended residential use. 

 

The environmental impact of the building has been reduced through the design of a solar photo-voltaic array on the green-sedum roof.
