Warrington Youth Zone, Cheshire

HL are appointed as the Civil and Structural Engineer to deliver the design for this new purpose built Youth Zone for the young people of Warrington.

The new building is based on the model developed by charity Onside Youth Zones and includes a sportshall, boxing gym, rooftop MUGA pitch, dance studio and gymnasium amongst other facilities.

The building maximises the potential of a confined city centre site which is also adjacent a railway viaduct, with the external MUGA pitch built at second floor above a double storey sportshall.

The use of ground improvement as a foundation solution helped to mitigate the impact of poor ground conditions.

The project is currently on site and due for completion in early 2022.
