Dukeries Leisure Centre, Newark

HL were appointed as the Structural and Civil Engineers to build a new purpose built swimming pool facility as an extension to the existing Dukeries Leisure centre. 

The single storey steel structure accommodates an above ground 20m x 10m pool which is accessed by a mezzanine floor. The building also houses a reception area, unisex changing villages, storage and a pool side plant room.

The building has been designed as a steel frame, with an RC mezzanine floor cast on metal decking to the pool surround. Due to the exposure conditions within a pool environment

The pool is a prefabricated Astral stainless steel tank. Off-site manufacture of the pool allowed for an accelerated programme and reduced costs versus a traditional RC tank.

The project is currently on site and due to complete in the summer of 2021.
